Sehari selapis pewarna di kain, lama-lama jadi batik is adapted from peribahasa or proverb “sehari selembar benang, lama-lama jadi kain”, which means doing things little by little to achieve success in the end. It literally means a stitch a day, soon it will be a cloth. In this installation, the batik paintings are setup with a light backing to create an effect of see through, emphasizing on the layers on a batik cloth. Here, the artist hopes to showcase a study of Batik processes and its labour intensive iteration.
